Over the course of the festival, students will take part in rehearsals and masterclasses with world class artists and perform in an unforgettable concert.

MELBOURNE SAXOPHONE ENSEMBLE
Launched in 2017, the Melbourne Saxophone Ensemble brings together twelve of Melbourne’s finest saxophonists, from Bass to Sopranino. The ensemble perform a dynamic range of classical and new music, with a strong focus on Australian and World Premieres.

The Melbourne Saxophone Ensemble perform with visiting national and international soloists, whilst working to establish Melbourne’s own Classical Saxophone identity. In their debut concert at the Melbourne Saxophone Festival 100SAX! 2017, the ensemble performed a world premiere by US composer Aaron Gallagher, an Australian Premiere by French composer Philippe Geiss, as well as a Melbourne Premiere by Australian composer Katia Beaugeais.
