ENSEMBLE - OCTET EPIPHANY (Melbourne)

Octet Epiphany's program consists of two works. ‘Three Images’ by Joel love, and Eric Whitacre’s ‘Sleep’ arranged by Joel Hands Otte. ‘Three Images’ is an original work for Saxophone Octet, whereas ‘Sleep’ was originally for SATB a cappella Chorus. We believe these works demonstrate that the Saxophone is capable of achieving such a broad variety of sounds, and we are very excited to perform these works. We hope you enjoy our program.

OCTET EPIPHANY
Octet Epiphany is a newly formed ensemble, developed with the intention of demonstrating the power and the beauty of a saxophone chamber group. Comprising of ex and current Classical Saxophone students from Sir Zelman Cowen’s school of music, we come together to experiment with a relatively uncommon arrangement of instruments, shining a light on the Saxophone family.

Our ensemble enjoys experimenting with contemporary works and vocal arrangements for the Saxophone Octet. Through demonstrating the use of extended technique and beautiful tone colours, we hope to continue seeking performance opportunities, providing audiences with a new and captivating experience.
